What visually makes you who you are?
*visually, what makes me who I am is the random assortment of memorabilia that i collect and save.
What is the importance of appearance?
*appearance is what people judge you on. your first impression is based a large part on your appearance and how you look.
What objects have you chosen to bring in that represent you?/ How are each of these objects symbolic of part of your identity?
*Barbie- My grandmother collected holiday Barbies when she was younger. After she died I decided to collect one every year since she died as a tribute to her.
*Books- I am an avid reader and these are my top two favorite authors. Linda Howard and Christine Feehan.
*Anastasia(movie)- This is my favorite movie of all time. I love the story.
*Heels- One of my favorite memories was my mom teaching me how to correctly walk in heels like a lady.
*Teddy Bear- When I was in kindergarten I was pushed down and hit my head on the concrete. When I came to I walked inside and fell asleep on the floor of the classroom. When I awoke again there were three teachers, two paramedics and my mother standing over me. I was transported to the hospital where they examined and released me a little later. As I was leaving the paramedic that had brought me to the hospital handed me the teddy bear and told me to keep him safe. That paramedic's name was Ryan. My Bear's name is Ryan Bear, and he goes to the hospital with me every time I need to be admitted.
*Tennis Racket- I play tennis for my high school and it has been a big part of my springs every year.
*Bracelet- i made this bracelet and attached a lot of little mementos that remind me of my friends and events from the past.
*Medals- I competed in Extemporaneous Speaking at a local level for SkillsUSA and got 2nd place, I went on to compete at a state level and got 3rd place.
*Drum sticks and drum pad- I played in the band for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I was a percussionist, which means I played the drums.
*Picture- Even though it is barely visible, this is a picture of my family and I at the aquarium about 6 or so years ago. Its a very fond memory.
*Dog leash and tag- Even though all our dogs are family dogs, Cuervo seems to love me more than anyone else so he has become my dog.
How have you chosen to arrange/light/photograph these objects? why?
*I chose to arrange my items based on the fact that you could see all the items clearly so that the full effect is felt. the light is off centered so that some shadow is given off.
Is there significance to the fabric that you brought in? If so, what is the significance of the fabric?
*This blanket is the blanket my mother made for my grandmother the last few weeks before she died of cancer. Its more of a comfort to see and feel it now.
